We believe that kids are never too young to start learning good money management skills. We offer financial literacy presentations from kindergarten to grade 12.
We try to accommodate the presentation time to meet the time blocks set by each teacher. However, our presentation times typically vary depending on the grade level: elementary 30-40 minutes, junior high 40-50 minutes and senior high 60-70 minutes.
There is no cost to the school for these presentations. If you are interested in booking a presentation, click here or contact firstname.lastname@example.org
No. Our objective at Money Mentors is to provide financial literacy education to youth. We encourage teachers to book as many (or as few) presentations as needed.
Most of our school’s presentations require group interaction, are activity based and provide the opportunity to ask and answer questions. Because of this, we ask teachers to limit the number of students per presentation to 30. This will provide the optimal learning experience for the students and allow the presenter to engage participants. In the event that this is not possible, we will try to work with the teachers on a case by case basis.
Money Mentors provides most major supplies needed for each presentation. However, there may be some presentations where students are asked to use their own paper, pencil, crayons or markers. Information of what may be needed for each presentation would be addressed during the booking process.
Yes, your classroom will need AV equipment, sound, laptop, and internet access.
Money Mentors hires and trains youth presenters who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education to deliver the presentations.
We provide financial literacy presentations to schools throughout Alberta. Our major city locations include: Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Grand Prairie, Medicine Hat and Fort McMurray. We also offer presentations in bedroom communities surrounding these areas.
All of our school’s presentations are held in the classrooms of the schools we visit. We obtain the necessary information needed during the booking process and send out a youth presenter to the school on the date and time of the presentation(s).
We develop our financial literacy school’s presentations to align with Alberta curriculum for each grade level. Our curriculum tie ins include concepts and learning objectives from many courses.
